The State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has started a helpline number — 022-40293000, where any citizen can call and get the information as well as assistance regarding the process of registering a complaint. Going by the statistics of the commission, there is pendency of nearly 2,200 cases. “Every month, around 75 complaints are received,” a department official said. According to the department of consumer affairs, most of the complaints are pertaining to domestic home appliances, telecom sector or against the builders.

Consumer Courts Shifted – New Addresses
National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has been shifted to its new premises:
‘Upbhokta Nyay Bhawan’,
‘F’ Block, General Pool Office Complex,
INA, New Delhi 110 023
… with effect from 17th August, 2011
Also, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (New Delhi) has also shifted from Baracks, Kastruba Gandhi Marg to Vikas Bhawan, ITO, New Delhi and will be functional soon at the new premises.
